New space weather alerts:
- Geomagnetic storms: Get notified when a geomagnetic storm is predicted (G1 to G5).
- Solar Wind Shocks: Receive alerts up to an hour before a shock arrives and the exact second it hits.
Last night’s aurora recap for Pro users:
- Sightings: See how many reports came in last night.
- Global reach: Discover how many countries witnessed the Northern Lights.
- Activity map: View exactly where the sightings were reported last night
- Top moments: See community highlights and standout moments of the night
- Peak real-time metrics: Check key stats, including minimum aurora strength and Bz levels.
- Featured Photo: View the top-voted photo of the night and when it was captured.
We also upgraded the Map screen (once again):
- New filter bar: Easily filter cloud coverage, 30-minute sightings, and last night's reports with a quick tap.
- Aurora oval toggle: Use the clean new chip to turn the aurora oval on or off instantly.
- Past sightings: Check out exactly where the lights were spotted last night and 30 mins ago right on the map.
Update the text on summary
- We noticed the forecast wasn't always clear or explanatory enough. We’ve added helpful context so you know which real-time metrics are driving your chances, without getting overly complicated.

- We’ve rolled out a series of upgrades to make navigating the Map screen and tracking aurora sightings smoother
- Smarter clustering: Multiple Moments shared close together are now automatically grouped on the map. Simply tap a cluster and see through photos taken from the exact same spot.
- New map filters: You can now choose to show or hide Featured Moments. Plus, Pro users can filter sightings to see only those reported in the last 30 minutes.
- Organized Settings: Map settings have been completely restructured into three clear categories: Forecast, Clouds and Sightings so you can find what you need at a glance.
- And of course, we catch the bug along the way. Such as: Moments shared while you are actively viewing the map now open immediately. Locations saved by older app versions now update seamlessly to your precise position.
- We also tidy up layout whenever you report a new sighting.

- The app is now available in 10 languages, adding Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish alongside English, French, German, Italian and Thai.
- You can also sign in with your Apple or Google account in a single tap to start your aurora journey even faster.
- Because we love the aurora oval as much as you do, we updated it to be smoother and more detailed. Hello Aurora gives you aurora forecasts based on your geo-location and this update improves location accuracy so your forecast matches your exact spot even better.
- We also made alert notifications more reliable, fixed plenty of bugs and added behind-the-scenes performance improvements.

- The home screen also gets an upgrade with a new expanded header setting for live aurora strength charts.
- Based on user requests, we added one-line verdict summaries for the Aurora Guide and geomagnetic storm levels right on the K-index charts.

- Say hi to Hello Aurora V4. We completed a major redesign and launched Hello Aurora 4 to kick off the 2026-2027 season.
- This update introduces interactive video onboarding, unified drop-down header navigation, and active location controls. We also redesigned our widgets, which now feature live aurora strength charts across small, medium, and Lock Screen formats.
